Do Adults Who Are ‘Only Trying to Help’ Sometimes Make Things Worse?

-          In many cases adults can make situations worse. Reason being because the societies that we each have lived in are somewhat different. Sometimes they don’t give you enough time to better explain the situation so that they can step in your shoes, instead they assume that they already know what you’re going through because they’re older, but it doesn’t work that way. We can all learn from each other and understand another person’s experiences regardless of their age.

How Often Do You Leave Your “Comfort Zone”?

-          I do have somewhat of an idea of which university I’d like to attend. I personally would not like to study here in Florida, I’d prefer to study somewhere in California. I would definitely be stepping out of my comfort zone if I go out of state to study. I’d be in a completely new environment, alongside people I’ve never seen before, and I’d have to adjust myself to not having family to fall back on.

How Would You Feel About a Computer Grading Yours Essays?
-           I don’t think I would feel too good about a computer grading my essays as in the article it stated that one of the critics said a computer could not measure accuracy, reasoning, adequacy of evidence, good sense, ethical stance, convincing argument, meaningful organization, clarity, and veracity in your essay. I do care weather my teacher reads my essays as I believe my teacher would be able to grade me better than anyone else ,but I don’t believe I work hard just to impress my teacher. It is stated in the article that getting instant feedback has a huge impact on the time it takes to improve your essays. I don’t think this would be the case for me because I don’t think I would have the motivation to improve my essays unless I hear a teacher’s feedback.

Do You Think Child Stars Have It Rough?
-          I think child stars are more prone to public meltdowns because they have to feel the pressure of everyone’s eyes on them. Most kids have the comfort of growing up and making mistakes in private without the world watching them, but child stars aren’t just growing up with their families. As they enter the world of entertainment they must realize that the world will be watching their every move and the world will criticize them when they make mistakes, but that’s what happens when your famous.

Do 'Shame and Blame' Work to Change Teenage Behavior?
-          I’m not fully in favor of an approach like those above. I think the advertising should be addressed to parents. They are the responsible for children’s education. I disagree with people that say “authorities are responsible for providing everything for my child”. I know early pregnancy is a social problem and this one should receive attention from governments. But this kind of discussion is under parent’s accountability.

  1. Hello Nicholas, I found your opinion on the article "Do You Think Child Stars Have It Rough?" to be quite interesting. Your opinion on the subject is the same as mine. I find it that child stars will always have the lime light on them, many people will criticize their actions. Although they are always judged, I think it's a small price to pay considering that they have a very big income. Most child stars make more money than average adult would make. So, I sympathize with the children but their life isn't really that rough.

  2. I agree with you for the most part, these child celebrities have a large income, greater than the average person, so, yes, they don't have to go through the same financial troubles the most people go through, but there's still that mental and emotional aspect in every person. Especially as a child being exposed to so many opinions and criticism than the average person, it may take a toll on who they end up to be.

  3. They may have to deal with some emotional struggles but for the most part it isn't really a big problem. I find losing your home because of your inability to pay it to be a bigger problem than being called fat on a magazine. These children don't understand the actual struggles of the real world. They haven't dealt with poverty or the inability to pay for college because they may a large amount of money being on tv shows and movies.
